This post is to discuss recalculation frequency preference in FlowJo for the Mac:
When set to immediately, you get all the data all the time, but as your analysis gets bigger, you may find it also correlates with instability and crashes of the program.
We're currently debating whether or not to change the default setting of this pref, which would mean in the next version of FlowJo you may not get the same behavior you expect WRT. recalculations in the workspace. It'll pretty much only happen when you batch or double-click on stuff.
If you have strong feelings one way or another, now would be a good time to make them heard (just comment on this post).
note: - another way to make your analysis tons more snappy is to enable "placeholders" in the layout. You really don't need to see ALL of your dots when you're aligning things or making aesthetic changes ;)
