Just posted! FlowJo 8.5b2

the big new addition is in the table editor - summary statistics have been expanded beyond Mean and SD. Normally when one makes a table in FJ, it looks like...

where the last two rows are "summary stats" - ie. some mathematical summary of the range of values in the column above.

In addition to The two standard ones, you can unlock a bunch of new ones by clicking the little sigma button in the table editor (upper left corner, below) :

which brings up this panel:

click Choose:

I think Mean, SD, CV, Median, Percentile, min, max and range are self expanatory - here's what the same output as above would look like with these summary stats:

The last three, IQR, T-test and Wilcoxon - will take a little explaining (click on the words for Wiki linkage.)

IQR works like other summary stats, it requires no additional input and simply returns one value per column in the table.

T-test and Wilcoxon are test which compare one group of values to another (or control value vs. experimental value(s)).

Let us make the assumption that in this data set, the first sample is the control, and we want to run T-Test and Wilcoxon test on that value vs. the other three.

With that in mind, Click on either test in the 'choose' pulldown of Define Summary Statistics dialog - it brings up "define subgroup.." dialog, one of two.

We have to divide the four values in our data set into two groups. The easiest way is to pick a threshold:

then a matching argument for group two:

and the output looks like:

In closing, Whose house?? FlowJo's house!!!
