the easiest and fastest way to do software compensation on FCS data

Starting in 8.4b3, the compensation wizard is fully automated. No gating is required. Here's a brief demo:

1. drag the compensation samples from the file system to a flowjo workspace (if you already have them in the workspace, make sure they're in their own group). This trick works best if the Group is selected, but none of the samples are:

2. while the group is selected, but none of the samples are, click [cmd]+[m]. You'll notice your compensation values will show up almost instantly:

at this point you can click create matrix and then use it to compensate your other samples.

Q: but waitaminute! what about the gates?
A: don't worry about it. FlowJo made them for you (inspect the workspace window)

Q: is this accurate?
A: our algorithms have been tried and true. By doing this automatically you're removing user bias from the operation. So it's more accurate.

FlowJo V8.4b3 is available from the beta website.
